I want my Reto-Gram to be longer. How come I can't write more?
Real telegrams were priced per word: the longer the message, the more it cost. Accordingly, common practice was to keep messages brief and to the point, and telegrams were often almost poetic in their simplicity. To honor and foster this wonderful economy of language, Retro-Grams only allow a limited amount of space in which to write your message. TOP
I want to send my Retro-Gram to multiple recipients. How do I do that?
You can't. Retro-Grams, like telegrams, are sent only from the sender to one recipient. If you want to send a Retro-Gram to another recipient, you need to purchase another Retro-Gram. Once a Retro-Gram has been received, it is a stand-alone file and can be copied, printed, e-mailed, etc... TOP
Why are Retro-Grams in all caps or all lowercase letters?
The typefaces used for the text of our Retro-Grams are painstakingly re-created from actual vintage telegrams. The machines used by one major telegram company typed only in capital letters, and most Retro-Gram designs make use of that typeface. The typeface used in our Aethergram and Internationale designs is based on the all-lowercase type found in an international telegram from 1913. The Retro-Gram fonts are available here exclusively. Why are Retro-Grams PDF files? My friend doesn't use Acrobat.
Retro-Grams are only available as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. We chose this format for several reasons. Acrobat files allow us to send typographically complex and historically accurate documents via internet with no loss of quality. When these files are printed, the quality is perfect even when printed at very high resolutions. Other file formatslike .jpg or .gifcannot support this outstanding level of image quality. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free application for all types of computers and is available for download from Adobe. TOP
Why can't I read the fine print on my Aethergram?
The fine print is there, but when an Aethergram is viewed at 100% size, the text is too small for most monitors to display. Acrobat displays the small type as gray bar, which is called "greeked text". However, when you zoom in or print the Aethergram, it will look great. TOP
Who is PayPal? Why am I paying them?
PayPal is a secure and trusted online financial services company used happily by thousands of people every day. We have selected them for credit card processing as their service is more cost effective for us than a traditional e-commerce merchant account. Our server passes your transaction to them, they take your credit card information and bill you, and then you're returned to us to complete the transaction. Your credit card statement will show a charge to "PayPal". They'll pay us and everyone will be happy. TOP
If you have a question not answered in this list, please let us know. Send ordinary e-mail to Retro-Gram Customer Service TOP
